Yankee Homcoming and "The Boycott"

Amy and Joe went up to their old stomping ground, Newburyport, the other weekend to checkout the Yankee Homecoming festivities. It was a great time. They checked out some huge boats and old cars. They visited Grahm's ice cream shop and the local cheese shop. They hung out on the "green" and walked on the "mall". They also saw the Moyers (Ben, Katie and Ben's mom)...Super Cool. Tommy's favorite part was visiting the central playground. See pics below.

Amy and Joe really miss Newburyport. Someday they might move back to N-port. Perhaps they will buy this house

So the other day, Joe decided to boycott Ben & Jerry's ice cream. The reason for boycott is due to the fact that Ben and/or Jerry screwed over Becca (Tommy's friend Jonah's mom - see swing picture below). A few year's back Becca wrote into Ben & Jerry's to suggest a new flavor, Oatmeal Cookie Chunk. Ben & Jerry thought the flavor was such a good idea that they decided to put it out as "limited time" only flavor. The flavor was so popular that they kept it as a full-time flavor. See quote from the B&J website below.

"With the frenzy of fan mail we received when we introduced Oatmeal Cookie Chunk as a for-a-limited-time-only flavor in 2003, we couldn't possibly banish it to the flavor graveyard forever. With pleas from folks like you, we had to bring it back as a full-time flavor!"

So as inventor of this flavor one would think Becca would get royalties from the ice cream sales or at least her picture on the ice cream pints........you know what she got.....a FREAKIN T-SHIRT. The t-shirt is cool and all....for a temporary flavor, but the inventor of a full time flavor should at least get a trophy.

We are currently in day 2 of the boycott. We feel our protest is picking up traction as Tommy has recently joined in on the boycott. We are thinking of taking the protest to the next level. Tomorrow we might chain ourselves to the freezer doors at Market Basket.

Kids in boxes......

Not sure what it is, but Tommy seems to have an affinity for hanging out it alcohol boxes. A couple of months ago, Tommy and his friend, Noah, were found in Rockport, MA hanging out in a Corona box (See previous post). More recently, Tommy was caught on camera playing Peak-A-Boo in a wine box. Amy and Joe wonder if Tommy just enjoys the alcohol boxes or maybe these are just the boxes that happen to be in the house....which could highlight a problem with the parents

CAPE COD

Amy, Tommy and the Grandparents Rodger hung out on the cape for a few weeks. Unfortunately, Joe and Tillie could not go down to the Cape for the entire 2 weeks (they had to work).....but they did go down for a long weekend. Tommy really enjoyed the beach, playing in the sand, eating sand, hanging out in the water, looking at the weirdos at the flea market, and playing with his new stuffed pig, Arnold.

One of Joe's favorite times at the Cape is when it is cool (but not too cool) and overcast. During this type weather, the beach is empty and fam (including tillie) can enjoy the beach all alone.
See the 2 dots on the beach - that is Tillie and Joe

Tillie and Tommy try to see the seals

Baptism

July 13th, Tommy was baptised at Christ Church in Andover. It was a great day. Surprisingly, Tommy did not say a word (or scream) when the water hit is head. Amy and Joe were very proud of him. Amy and Joe's good friend, Brent Lanterman is the God Father.

Grandparents
Amy and Joe were lucky enough to have both sets of Grandparents come to visit (at the same time). The Rodgers came out for there annual pilgrimage to the east coast and the Dubows came out for Tommy's baptism.

Tommy helps Grandma Dubow weed the garden.

Staying Cool!

Here are some ways that Tommy has been staying cool during the heat wave.
First he decided to put on his golfing outfit and hit the course:

Next he went out and bought some new shades.

Then he decided to take a spin in his new set of wheels.

Then he picked up some chicks in his new set of wheels.

Finally, he decided to take a dip with Daddy.
The following is a little clip demonstrating why now is the best time to buy stock in bagged sand used for sandboxes.

We hope you are all staying cool!
