My sister and her husband, Jonathan, welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world this morning. Benjamin Rodger Feagle is healthy and happy...who wouldn't be with such great parents! We are so excited and can't wait to meet the Christmas Eve baby. Here are the two shots we have...more to follow soon.

When It Rains It Pours!
What a week it has been! Tommy has been giving us quite a scare over the last few weeks. He has been making a gasping sound when he breathes. We had seen quite a few doctors, but none of them had been able to figure out what was wrong. After turning blue on us a few times, his pediatric Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) doctor decided it was time to have a closer look. On Monday, Tommy was admitted to Mass General for surgery. We arrived at the hospital at six o'clock in the morning. Mommy and Tommy both changed into scrubs and prepared for the big day.
Then Mommy and Tommy went down to the surgery floor where Mommy was allowed to sit with Tommy until he went under anestisia. This was really hard on Mommy. It is not easy to see your baby put under! Then Mommy went back up stairs and waited with Daddy until they called her back down to the recovery room. Tommy was quite happy sleeping and didn't want to wake up. He takes after his Mommy and Daddy...he loves to sleep.
We spent the rest of the day loving and comforting our little boy while he recovered. Daddy got kicked to the curb by the nurses, so Mommy stayed with Tommy until he was released on Tuesday afternoon.
During the surgery, the doctors used cameras to look at Tommy's airway, lungs, and stomach. They determined that he has laryngomalacia and trachealmalacia. This means that different spots in his airway are weak and collapse when he inhales. Fortunately he has mild cases of both and should grow out of them as he matures. They took some biopsies while they were in there. We should get the results next week. We want to thank everyone for all the phone calls, thoughts, and prayers.
Our other sad new is that Tommy's daycare provider, Thaya, called today to tell us that she will be returning to teaching in December. We are heartbroken, as we have come to trust her and know that Tommy loves spending time with her. We pray that we will find someone that we love as much to replace her. When it rains it pours!

Fall Is In the Air
After a great trip to New Mexico to see Grandma (Coco) and Grandpa (Papi)....
we have been doing a lot of great New England fall activities. First their was apple picking. (Mommy forgot a sun hat and had to make do with a burp cloth and hair elastic. Don't worry...Tommy didn't join a bikers club!)
Then there was the Topsfield Fair. This is the biggest pumpkin in the world...almost 1700 pounds!!
Then it was off to Vermont to visit with Robyn and Mark. Beautiful scenery and a trip to Ben and Jerry's factory.
Then we headed home to cheer for the Red Sox...notice the onesie!
Now it is time to settle in and wait for winter!

Row, Row, Row Your Boat
Tommy went on his first camping/boating trip! We cheated a little and stayed in a hotel, but we visited our friends often at their campsite. Here is a picture of Tommy in his life jacket (Safety comes before fashion!)
Now for the fashion...check out his flip flops!
Tommy also made his first friend. Noah Bates was lots of fun to hang out with...when he wasn't stealing Tommy's binky!
I had to add this picture because it is soooo cute (I know I am biased, but I am his Mommy so that's my job!)Sunday, August 12, 2007
My Heart is Full
It's been 2 and a half months since Tommy came into our lives and we have loved every minute of it! Yes...we have loved every minute, including the late night minutes, the poopy minutes, the screaming minutes, and the crying minutes because they have been balanced out by the smiling minutes, the cooing minutes, the laughing minutes, and those precious sleepy minutes. We have been blessed with a miracle and we are so very thankful.
There is more love in the air!! My college roommate, Marcie Morrocco, married Jon Kaczmarcyk (if I spelled that last name right it is miracle) on August 4th. It was a great weekend. Karen and Tom (Joe's parents) came with us to babysit. It was so nice to have an adult evening with my husband! Marcie was gorgeous. I'm so happy for her!

July has been full of firsts!!
First time meeting Auntie Katie!
First time meeting Uncle Jonathan!
First 4th of July!!
We also celebrated some special occasions this month. Amy's parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary while we were on the Cape. On July 3rd, Joe turned 29 years old. He'll need a cane or a walker any day now!
Tommy's on my lap while I am writing this and he asked me to include these two pictures because they are two of Mommy's new favorites...
And just so Tillie doesn't feel left out....

We've Been Busy!
March was a busy month for us. We finished up more house projects in anticipation for Tommy's arrival. The nursery is coming along nicely. His closet is almost full (Mommy can't help herself...baby clothes are soooo cute!) Tillie had her friends come stay with us for a weekend. Shelby and Lucy's parent were away, so Tillie got to play with them the weekend of the big snowstorm. They had lots of fun!
(It says: $3.56 From: Jasmine To: Mrs. Dubow Money for the baby)
I told my boss that I think I need a raise! Well that's all our news for now!
April was also a busy month. The first weekend we were in Annapolis with our friends Connor, Jackie, Ken, Mer, and Brent. We rented a beautiful house and had a great time catching up. It was fun to see the boys try to recapture their college days. They can't party like they used to! Actually, they can party like they used to...but the recovery is a bit harder!! We were excited to meet Connor and Jackie's newest addition, Noah. Joe got some Daddy practice in:
We also had our 32nd week ultrasound this month. Tommy is weighing in at 4 pounds 7 ounces. It sounded awfully big to me, but they assured me that he was only in the 4oth percentile. They said we should expect a 6 1/2 - 8 1/2 pound baby. (I thought that was kind of a big range, but I guess it allows the doctors to say they were accurate...the weatherman should be so lucky!) Tommy is currently lying sideways with is feet curled up into my ribs!! We are getting really excited to meet our little guy. My students are also getting into Mrs. Dubow's baby. I have received many wonderful gifts, which is really thoughtful considering most of my students are from low income families. This was perhaps the sweetest one so far:
